Here is one problem with having a flexible schedule: You feel that your daily work doesn’t really feel like work, because it adapts to your life. So it’s easier to go months without taking time off, and that’s not a good idea!

A few days ago, I was talking to a friend and they mentioned they are taking 2 days to recharge. Nothing was planned, no travel, no activity, just to recharge a bit.
I liked the idea and wanted to do the same, so I opened our internal tool to ask for some time off, and that’s when I saw: 5 months since the last time off.
It’s been 5 months since I took some time off! And I didn’t feel it. I don’t feel exhausted, I don’t feel stressed, it just works… But even with that, it’s always a good idea to take some time off.
So, I immediately booked two days so I can rest and recharge! But guess what, instead of spending those days as I planned, I got covid. Damn it!
Fighting covid, for the second time – Ahmed
I wasn’t expecting my time off to be spent fighting a virus, but here we are. Life is unexpected after all.
But rest assured, I planned a few days off in the near future :)
So, what about you? When was the last time you took some time off?
